Unicorns and horses, race horses

In many cultures of the earth are located the steed with the powerful horn on the forehead, the strongest, more inexorable of all animals, symbol for an apparently uncontrollable challenge.

We artists have assumed the challenge to create naturalistic works.

With some works, like the racehorse on skids, the working process extends over different stages of development.
Each level for itself, would be strictly speaking already worth to preserving.
But where there is no destruction, there also no new beginning.
I could compare it with a grain, whose death and departure enable only new life.

Thus the horse form in the" process of change" served as basis for the development of the racehorse on skids.

The racehorse was processed by Henning in approximately 200 hours of work time.

Also the small, standing horse model was subject to such a process of change.
From it the small, jumping unicorn resulted.

But apart from the technique of " converting" we operate also with other forge-and manufacturing methods.

For instance an air pressure technique, which enables us to design "feather-light" unicorns and horses.

Over a horse form, which consists of different fragments, here in several work procedures, the steel sheet is forged. The positive casting thereby results this form is cut out and the individual segments finally joined.

The standing unicorn is one of the works, which resulted from this technique.

We plan a life size horse, by means of this technique or rather to build a Pegasus, which we can let actual ascend then into the sky.

I could say, the horse works re our
Ode, Hymn, or our Epos to the horse.
But these terms define only acoustic occurrences.
A praise of the horse.

We look back into the final millennium.
How far would we have progressed in all areas without the horse?
Isn´t the horse still entitled to thanks today?

Presupposing naturally, one is a proponent of the technical progress.

Birds and bats

Henning´s first bird head studies goes back to the year 1989.
This Kite is drawn with "hammer blow" and received thereby its typical surface.

Chiropteran, Vespertillio, bat. Their nocturnal way of life, which we often share, makes us "colleague".

Dolphins

In the faith of old was the dolphin
a symbol for the vitality of the sea:
Water - thalassa - as source of the life.

Delphys the Greek word for dolphin, is related to the word Delphis, womb.

(Eros is probably the most well-known one of the Gods, who rides a dolphin!)
The dolphin, the friend of humans. Rescuer of humans from distress. (and if not from distress, then rescue of the soul.) Only short time do we ask whether dolphins and whales possibly are just as intelligent in their way as we ourselves. Mostly we thinking that humans, alleged as an only organism on EARTH in the possession of a rational intelligence, represents the summit of the creation.

Probably those in the WATER think the same about us.
